You use it every day, but have you ever thought what a pencil is and how it is made?
The word Pencil is derived from a Latin Word 'Pencillus' which means 'Little Tail'. A pencil is a writing tool that is made of a narrow solid pigment core inside a protective casing. Pencils are solid and are different from pens. Modern pencils are made in the industries by mixing finely ground graphite and clay powders.
History Of a Pencil
In 1975, N.J Conte successfully produced pencils. In old times flat pieces of lead were used to draw faint lines. These were used by Greeks and Romans. After 100 years Graphite was used to make Pencils.
Modern Day Pencils
